QVC Solutions has partnered with Queensland International Business Academy (QIBA) to deliver Project Management and Executive English to International Managers and Executives.

The course integrates the learning of both Specific Purpose English Language and Project Management skills. This methodology is widely known as CLIL (Content and Language Integrated Learning).

DDG recognises professional project management by QVC

QVC’s State Government client today took time to recognise the value of professional project management. He said in a Program Board meeting “We’d like to thank Dave and Scott for the extremely valuable contribution to the [x] Program. They have led the governance extremely well and QVC has been a large reason for the success of the Program. This really shows the value of utilising professional program and project management”.

PMI has switched its National Awards presentations to Adelaide on 3 November 2011. The awards will now be presented as part of PMI Adelaide’s conference on that day.

The Project of the Year will be awarded a trip to the USA to attend the PMI Global Congress in 2012. Hatch, long associated with excellence in project management, has partnered with the PMI Awards to make this possible.

Clarity endorses QVC’s work

For a large part of this program the Program Management has been poorly done by people who have had little or no experience in Program Management. The results of this have been a concentrated focus on little else than schedule management and even that has been fraught with error. This program, would have been assisted by a high quality program manager to enable the Program Directors to get into the strategic and political management instead of being bogged down in project detail and issues. A Program Manager would have been able to understand the dependancies and hold project managers more accountable, realise and anticapte risks and issues thus putting into place planned mitigations and essentially allowed the Directors the head space to get their jobs done. The result has been a lot of decisions being made on the fly without full understanding of flow on impact, project managers with no consequences for non delivery and a general floundering and panic around release dates as no one has a clear picture of what has to happen when. This has improved since QVC consultants, David and Scott, have joined the Program. They have added a great deal of value to the pointy end of the Program. Julie Hawke, Clarity General Manager

Agile Project Management demand skyrockets

In research carried out by QVC Solutions, jobs involving Agile in Australia have sky-rocketed.

In August 2009 there were 187 jobs on Seek.com.au. In August 2010 there were 600 jobs on Seek and this month there are almost 5,000 jobs needing Agile.
